| I have quite a few styles that I love -- although my two favorite are probably the sakura falls with the special bridges worn for the spring dance program in Kyoto, and the willow kanzashi. After that is probably the crane and pine of december. http://www.flickr.com/photos/hpeters/525651795/These photos were found on Flickr -- I'm not sure what amazing photographer took them originally and would love to give credit! | |

| Thank you for the link, I am sure it will be useful to those who are just starting out studying traditional Kanzashi calendar. I have always loved the Maya site, since I found it about 6 years ago, their images are so clear and products so beautiful, though my favorite kanzashi are those created for and worn by actual Maiko in Kyoto. The kanzashi master craftsmen know when to break the rules, and come up with something different for a particular event or Maiko. I love this: Here is a picture of a Miyagawacho Maiko in August, wearing a sunflower kanzashi. Her name is Maiko Toshikana-san (舞妓 とし夏菜さん) | |
